Directrice de recherche au “Centre de recherche en paléontologie” (CR2P) – équipe “Paléobiodiversités, paléoenvironnements” (PALPAL) – Paris.

Sylvie Crasquin est micropaléontologue, spécialiste d’ostracodes (microcrustacés) marins du Paléozoïque supérieur – Trias. Ses travaux mêlent systématique, paléoécologie et paléobiogéographie.

Depuis bientôt 20 ans, elle analyse les crises de la biodiversité et la récupération post-crise des biotopes dans leurs contextes paléoenvironnementaux. Tous ses travaux reposent sur un travail personnel de terrain et une systématique rigoureuse.

 

Sylvie Crasquin a décrit un grand nombre d’espèces et de genres.

Sylvie Crasquin est également directrice du Centre de recherche en Paléontologie – Paris (C2P) et présidente de l’International Palaeontological Association (IPA).
