Charlotte NAVARRO

Charlotte Navarro joined the FRB in 2018 as Project Officer for the study on Digital Sequence Information (“DSI”) of genetic resources for food and agriculture. She then worked on the issues of access to genetic resources and fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their use (ABS) in the framework of the Nagoya Protocol to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). She also conducted a study on expertise methods where she implemented a survey methodology.

Today, Charlotte Navarro is in charge of the executive secretariat of the European association IENE, on the theme “Infrastructure and biodiversity” and participates in European projects. At the same time, she is developing the “Agroforestry” theme at the FRB, notably through a mapping of key actors, major ongoing initiatives and a scientific watch to identify emerging issues.

Charlotte Navarro holds a Master’s degree in Geography entitled “Dynamics of emerging and developing countries”. She is interested in strategies of territorial appropriation by peasant communities and agroforestry in Colombia, and has participated in the working group on Territorial Development for the NGO SOS Faim, in Belgium.
