First a lecturer-researcher at ENSAT (which later became AgroToulouse) for 11 years, Aude Vialatte then joined INRAE as a Research Director. The year 2026 marks:

• the end of her term as Director of the Dynafor unit, after eight years in its leadership as Deputy Director and then Unit Director,
• as well as her appointment as Scientific Director at the CESAB, the FRB Synthesis Centre.

 

In her research, Aude Vialatte takes part in interdisciplinary projects combining ecology and social geography. She uses semi-experimental and observational approaches, as well as spatially explicit modelling, to develop knowledge and tools that support changes in practices. For four years, she led a collective scientific assessment for government ministries on crop protection through plant diversification. This intensive interdisciplinary scientific synthesis, bringing together 30 scientists, mobilised both fundamental theoretical knowledge and context-specific knowledge, and resulted in a wide range of communication and dissemination activities.

 

Her future priorities focus on the scientific themes of the nexus, as developed within IPBES, with the aim of advancing ecological knowledge and strengthening the consideration of biodiversity-related issues, particularly to inform public policies.
