Laura-Li Jeannot joined FRB in September 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher. She is based at the University of La Reunion, in the UMR Entropie. She works on the PBALN project, analysing the ecosystem consequences of the interactions between fisheries and marine megafauna in the Indian Ocean.
Laura-Li’s PhD thesis focused on the impact of seabirds on the productivity of coral reef fish communities. She conducted her work at LEC-REEFS in Lancaster University and the University of Texas at Austin. Her research demonstrates the key role of cryptobenthic reef fishes for trophic dynamics, the importance of seabirds as cross-ecosystem nutrient vectors, and ultimately highlights the importance of seabird conservation for coral reef ecosystem functioning.
