Elodie VERCKEN
INRAEISA, Sophia-Antipolis.
Elodie Vercken is a researcher in ecology. Her scientific work draws on population dynamics and applied ecology approaches in a variety of contexts. In particular, she has led numerous projects on expanding populations, combining theoretical and experimental approaches in laboratory microcosms. Her work has evolved from research questions primarily focused on fundamental scientific issues in ecology and evolution towards more applied issues related to biodiversity dynamics and the status of insect populations. For example, she has worked on the unintended effects of biological control programmes on native communities of natural enemies and their evolution over time, as well as on the colonisation dynamics of insect communities in re-vegetated school playgrounds.
