[FRB-CESAB 2026] Two calls for proposals now open
Two calls for proposals are opening simultaneously, funding a total of three projects: the FRB-Cesab 2026 synthesis call for two general projects, and one marine thematic project through a call in partnership with France Filière Pêche (FFP).
The three selected projects will be funded over three years, including the recruitment of a postdoctoral researcher, the organization of five meetings at CESAB, and comprehensive support (logistical, technical, administrative, as well as communication and data science support).
FRB-Cesab 2026 General Call (two projects funded)
Open to any synthesis project on biodiversity, involving natural sciences and/or social sciences and humanities. Projects exploring interactions between biodiversity and the four other Nexus dimensions as defined by IPBES (human health, water, food, and climate) are particularly encouraged.

FRB-Cesab & FFP 2026 Thematic Call (one project funded)
Theme: “Impacts of pressures and their interactions on the biodiversity of marine ecosystems exploited by fisheries in Europe (Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean)“
In partnership with France Filière Pêche, FRB invites the scientific community to submit projects aimed at analyzing, synthesizing, and modeling existing data in order to quantify how interactions between multiple pressures (fishing, climate change, pollution, invasive species, other human activities i.e. marine renewable energy, mining, tourism) affect the biodiversity of marine ecosystems, including exploited populations in the Northeast Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the functioning of associated ecosystems.
