His research and expertise focused on the mathematical modelling of the biological production of coastal marine ecosystems and on the dynamics of populations exploited by fishing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\nFrom 2001 to 2004, Philippe Gros headed IFREMER&#8217;s Living Resources Directorate (fisheries, aquaculture, product processing, maritime economics).
