{"id":15631,"date":"2021-07-22T10:30:08","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T08:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fondationbiodiversite.fr\/?post_type=appel&#038;p=15631"},"modified":"2026-03-27T09:34:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T08:34:38","slug":"call-for-proposals-frb-mte-ofb-impacts-on-terrestrial-biodiversity-in-the-anthropocene","status":"publish","type":"appel","link":"https:\/\/www.fondationbiodiversite.fr\/en\/calls\/call-for-proposals-frb-mte-ofb-impacts-on-terrestrial-biodiversity-in-the-anthropocene\/","title":{"rendered":"[Call for proposals FRB-MTE-OFB 2021] Impacts on terrestrial biodiversity in the Anthropocene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of the implementation of the national &#8220;terrestrial biodiversity monitoring&#8221; programme carried out by the French Biodiversity Office (<a href=\"https:\/\/ofb.gouv.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>OFB<\/strong><\/a>), which aims to measure, identify and monitor the influence of human activities on biodiversity and the best practices to be promoted, the Ministry of Ecological Transition (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecologie.gouv.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MTE<\/strong><\/a>)\u00a0and the French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationbiodiversite.fr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>FRB<\/strong><\/a>) are launching a call for research projects on the &#8220;<strong>Impacts on terrestrial biodiversity in the Anthropocene<\/strong> &#8220;. The call aims to characterize the positive, negative or non-existent impacts of human activities and induced pressures on the state and dynamics of terrestrial biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the research funded by the programme should help to strengthen the actions of society as a whole, to halt the decline of biodiversity and promote sustainable human development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Projects should focus on at least one of these three themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>highlight new links between human pressures and the state of biodiversity;<\/li>\n<li>characterize the links between pressures and impacts using new data processing technologies, new indicators, new protocols, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>identify gaps in current monitoring (spatial distribution, temporal frequency, types of pressure, type of biodiversity).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Human activities and direct or indirect pressures that have implications for terrestrial biodiversity on a territorial scale will be considered<\/strong> (i.e. pressures that have global impacts, such as climate change, cannot be considered on their own, unless they are coupled with other pressures) and <strong>impacts that have a significant effect on biodiversity present on French national territory (metropolitan and ultra-marine).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This call for proposals will allow the funding of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>3 data SYNTHESIS projects of three years<\/strong> &#8211; these projects should develop syntheses of ideas and\/or concepts, analyses of existing data, and should focus on factors affecting the state, evolution and dynamics of biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 to 6 one-year SYNERGY projects<\/strong> &#8211; these projects should provide complementary answers to a question that emerges from a research project that has been finalized or is underway, and should help stakeholders with indicators and practices to be promoted or abandoned to preserve biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2 to 4 one-year SYSTEMATIC MAP projects<\/strong> &#8211; a preliminary step to the &#8220;systematic review&#8221;, these projects will have to focus on pressure-impact links related to human practices in order to highlight whether the impacts on biodiversity are well established or suffer from a lack of data or literature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div class=\"bloc_gris\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Find here the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationbiodiversite.fr\/en\/actualite\/call-for-proposals-frb-mte-ofb-projects-selected-within-the-call-impacts-on-terrestrial-biodiversity-in-the-anthropocene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">description of the eight projets selected<\/a><\/strong> within the 2021-call.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Find here the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationbiodiversite.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/FRB-MTE-OFB_Texte_appel_2021_final.pdf\">full description of the call<\/a><\/strong> (in French).
