Welcome to the
Biodiversity
and Ecosystem Scenarios Network (ScenNet)
ScenNet intends to strengthen national and international ties between researchers working on scenarios of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
The project involves researchers from a wide range of disciplines covering all aspects of scenarios, such as the modeling of impacts of global change on biodiversity and ecosystem services, scenarios of socio-economic development that take into account biodiversity and ecosystem services, and feedbacks of changes in biodiversity and ecosystem services on decision making. At the global level, the project supports the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem services (IPBES).
Key actions
INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS
to systematically review models and scenarios, build capacity for scenario development and use, and review scenarios for decision support, respectively.
NATIONAL WORKSHOPS TO REINFORCE NATIONAL NETWORKS
by collaborating with existing structures where they exist in order to maintain and expand these networks; and identify and mobilise researchers working on scenarios in countries where scenarios are not currently brought together in a dedicated network.
